The question I have for you this week is an invention that you would UN-invent. Haha! It sounds quite contradictory, but I want you all to really think about it and write your entries on this topic. As I said in class, I really had a difficult time with this topic because I could not decide on which invention I would un-invent. However, I finally decided on one and that is the GPS navigational system. As much as I enjoy and really find the navigational system to be handy and efficient, I also see that it is at times hindering my brain from fully functioning. I can recall the days when I used to take out my Thomas Guide map book and find my route like that. However, now that we have the navigational system, we never think about where we are going. We are simply turning into automatons, and I personally do not like that idea. Again, let me reinforce the fact that I find them to be extremely handy and would be unhappy if my car was not equipped with one. Nonetheless, I try not to use it all the time simply to make sure I keep my brain alive and active. How about all of you? What would YOU un-invent? I cannot wait to read your entries!
I agree a bit because some GPS devices show traffic flow; whereas, offline maps are not handy in this part.
ReplyDeleteHowever, massively relying only on GPS is not good at all.
Very true!
DeleteForget the GPS; I love a good map. It is a great way to get to know a new place!
ReplyDeleteIn my country, GPS devices are not popular. But here, every family has at least one GPS device. So we can see how convenient it is.
ReplyDeleteWow, really?
DeleteI agree with you because many people don't use it at all.
